The notebook pictured above required what we refer to as the 'nVidia fix'. It is a fairly new HP notebook, purchased about 1 1/2 years ago from another source, and conveniently 'out-of-warranty'. It was priced at about $1,500. HP, and some other brands, had a problem with overheating on the nVidia graphics controller chip. This causes the chip to pull away from the motherboard. We remove the motherboard, and have a process whereby we can reseat/resolder the chip, fix the underlying BIOS problem, and return the computer in good working order to our customer.

HP wanted to replace the board and would have charged $450-$500 for this repair. Our charge to our customer was only $125.

Cracked Screen Replacement	$175	Includes $75 labor and approximate $100 cost of parts, the LCD panel. Parts cost will vary with model. We'll give you an exact estimate of cost once we know the model number.
Motherboard Replacement	$250	Includes $125 labor and approximate $125 cost of parts, the motherboard, which may vary in price. This is generally the highest cost repair that we do, and is usually not required.
Hard Drive Replacement - O/S Reload	$150	Includes $75 labor and approximate $75 cost of a 500GB hard drive. As noted, this repair includes the reload of your operating system. This repair would be needed if your hard drive has failed and is not recoverable.
Hard Drive Replacement/Upgrade - Drive Clone	$125	Includes $50 labor and approximate $75 cost of a 500GB hard drive. Other drives are available - 750GB, 1TB, SSDs (120GB-480GB), which will vary in price. This upgrade or replacement is available if your existing drive is still fully functional.
Keyboard Replacement	$60	Includes $25 labor and approximate $35 cost of a keyboard, which may vary with model.
Power Jack Replacement	$145	If your power cord wobbles in the connector, and your battery won't charge, this repair may be required. A quick test is for you to remove the battery, and see if the unit powers on and off when you wiggle the connector. We dissassemble the unit, remove the motherboard, and solder on a replacement power jack, then reassemble and test.
Other	Varies	We do many other repairs including, but not limited to, complete chassis replacement for dropped units, broken hinge replacement, backlight for LCD, power inverters, wireless card replacement and upgrades, bluetooth upgrades, and memory upgrades. Call us for pricing!
